October 2017 Program Guide at Green Cay Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please call 561-966-7000 or visit the nature center to make program reservations. Fees (if applicable) are due the day of the program. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form for every program. If you are more than 5 minutes late to a program you have made a reservation for, your spot will be given to a person on the waiting list.  

BIRDS & BREAKFAST
Saturday, October 14, 9:00 a.m.
Ages 9 and older, $3/person (RSVP required, limit 10)
Enjoy coffee and refreshments before embarking on a one-hour birding tour with a naturalist.
 
ARCHERY 101
Friday, October 20, 10:00 a.m.
Ages 9 and older, $10/person (RSVP required, limit 12)
Join a USA Archery Certified Instructor to learn the basics of archery and develop a fun new skill! All equipment provided, please wear closed-toed shoes and bring water and sun protection for the outdoor portion. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
 
NIGHT STALKERS
Thursday, October 26, 6:30 p.m.
Ages 9 and older, $5/person (RSVP required, limit 20)
Join a naturalist on a night-time boardwalk tour looking at nature from the point of view of its nocturnal residents.
 
STORY & CRAFT TIME
Saturday, October 28, 10:00 a.m.
Suggested ages: 4-10 years, $2/child (RSVP required, limit 10)
Kids will discover nature through crafts and stories about animals and other nature-related themes! 

JUNIOR NATURALIST
Ages 9 to 14, $10/per session or $50/all six (RSVP required)
JR. HERPETOLOGIST   Saturday, September 30, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
JR. SURVIVALIST   Saturday, October 7, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
JR. LEPIDOPTERIST   Saturday, October 14, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
JR. WETLAND ECOLOGIST   Saturday, October 21, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
JR. BOTANIST   Saturday, October 28, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
The Junior Naturalist Series is designed for youth who are interested in nature and outdoor activities. The goal of the program is to actively put youth in touch with nature and teach them about the Green Cay Wetlands and South Florida wildlife.
