All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please call 561-966-7000 or visit the nature center to make program reservations. Fees (if applicable) are due the day of the program by cash or check only. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form for every program. If you are more than 5 minutes late to a program for which you have made a reservation, your spot may be given to a person on the waiting list.

SCIENCE FOR SENIORS: “FIGHTING FLORIDA’S MOST UNWANTED: EXOTIC INVASIVES”
Friday, January 5, 1:00 p.m.
Ages 50 and older, $5/person (RSVP required)
Presentation by: Jessica Andreasen, Green Cay Nature Center.
Saddle up for this wild western ride and take on Florida’s most unwanted: exotic, invasive animals and plants! Find out how they get here, what are they doing to Florida’s ecosystems, what one can do and most importantly, what is the most invasive of them all. 

ARCHERY 101
Saturday, January 6, 10:00 a.m. 
Ages 9 and older, $10/person (RSVP required, limit 12)
Join a USA Archery Certified Instructor to learn the basics of archery and develop a fun new skill! All equipment provided, please wear closed-toed shoes and bring water and sun protection for the outdoor portion. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
 
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP
Four week sessions Saturdays, January 6, 13, 20, & 27, 1:00 p.m.
$60 each for four sessions, $50 for Friends of Green Cay members (RSVP required, limit 20)
Learn to paint wildlife in watercolors. Introduction to watercolor paintingmaterials needed, and how to use them. Beginners welcome!
 
BIRDS & BREAKFAST
Saturday, January 13, 9:00 a.m.
Ages 9 and older, $3/person (RSVP required, limit 10)
Start the day at Green Cay and enjoy coffee and refreshments before embarking on a one-hour birding tour with a naturalist.

NIGHT STALKERS
Thursday, January 25, 6:00 p.m.
Ages 9 and older, $5/person (RSVP required, limit 20)
Join a naturalist on a night-time boardwalk tour looking at nature from the point of view of its nocturnal residents.

Friday, January 26, 1:00 p.m.
Ages 50 and older, $5/person (RSVP required)
Presentation by: Richard W. Emory, Jr., Esq., USEPA retired.
The weather is getting weird, and almost all scientists predict that business as usual will continue to damage the climate. Humanity is at the brink of self-caused devastation including catastrophic sea-level rise. Join retired EPA staff member, Richard Emory, as he describes the technologies and policies that humanity may use to avoid climate chaos.

STORY & CRAFT TIME
Saturday, January 27, 10:00 a.m.
Suggested ages: 4 -10 years, $2/child (RSVP required, limit 10)
Kids will discover nature through crafts and stories about animals and other nature-related themes! ​

WELLNESS PROGRAMS
TAI CHI & CHI KUNG
Four week sessions Thursdays, 2:00 p.m. & 3:00 p.m. (call for start dates)
$45 each for four sessions, $35 for Friends of Green Cay members, or $15 drop in fee for one session (RSVP required, limit 20)
Experience the benefits of these ancient Chinese systems of exercise and meditation. Improve flexibility, balance, muscle tone, energy and mental well being. 
 
GENTLE YOGA
Four week sessions Wednesdays, 2:00 p.m. (call for start dates)
$45 each for four sessions, $35 for Friends of Green Cay members, or $15 drop in fee for one session (RSVP required, limit 8)
Find peace, tranquility, mindfulness, strength, balance, and flexibility with a refreshing afternoon yoga session. Please bring own yoga mat. Feel free to bring any props, blankets, etc.
