April 2018 Program Guide at Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please call (561) 629-8760 or visit the nature center to make program reservations.  Fees (if applicable) are due the day of the program by cash or check only. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form for every program. If you are more than 5 minutes late to a program for which you have made a reservation, your spot may be given to a person on the waiting list. 

ANIMAL FEEDINGS
Daily, 3:15-3:30 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
3:15 p.m. is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing’s resident animals and then watch while it’s fed. Wednesday - Opossum; Thursday - Snake; Friday - Owl; Saturday - Alligator

MOTHER NATURE & ME: FISHY FRIENDS
Tuesday, April 3, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/ guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: ALLIGATORS
Tuesday, April 10, 3:30 p.m.
Ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program about alligators, featuring a visit from the nature center’s resident animal ambassador, at the Glades Road Branch Library! Call the Glades Road Branch Library for details and RSVP at (561) 482-4554.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: CLEAN AND GREEN
Tuesday, April 17, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/ guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!

SPECIAL EVENT: EARTH DAY
Saturday, April 21, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
Celebrate Earth Day at Daggerwing Nature Center! Bring the family to learn easy ways to help the planet while having fun. This special event will feature live animal encounters, crafts, environmental science demonstrations, a butterfly plant sale, ladybug release and much more.

BUTTERFLY GARDENING
Saturday, April 28, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
Learn all about local butterflies and discover how to attract them with a butterfly garden. Find out which plants are best to attract a multitude of species and enjoy a guided tour of Daggerwing Nature Center’s butterfly garden.
