June 2018 Program Guide at Riverbend Park

All programs are by reservation only. Please call (561) 741-1359 to make program reservations. Payment (cash or check) is due the day of program. Programs require a minimum number registered participants. For every program, participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please register in advance by 2:00 p.m. the day before. All programs run approximately 90 minutes depending upon experience level of participants. Please bring drinking water, sunscreen, and insect repellant to each program. 

NATURALIST WALKS
Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join a naturalist for a guided walk exploring the trails of Riverbend Park. It’s a great way to become familiar with the plant and animal communities, trails and historic events of the park. 

ORIENTEERING
Saturday, June 2, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/person (Reservations required)   
Lost in the park? This program will cover the basic parts, terms and proper usage of a compass so one may take a bearing and walk a course. Good walking shoes are recommended.

DIP NET EXPEDITION
Saturday, June 9, 9:30 a.m.
All ages, $5/person (Reservations required)
Discover life below the water surface, while becoming acquainted with the role of the wetlands in Riverbend Park. Catch and observe aquatic organisms. Close-toed shoes required. A change of clothes for after the program is suggested.

GUIDED PEDAL
Saturday, June 16, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $5/person (Reservations required)
Discover the trails of Riverbend with a naturalist guiding the way. This tour is a leisurely pedal of the trails. Enjoy looking for wildlife and stopping occasionally at points of interest. Please bring your own bike, as rental concession is currently unavailable. 

ARCHERY
Saturday, June 23, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/person (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery and N.F.A.A. certified staff to learn about archery! This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
