Palm Beach County Department of Public Safety Division of Animal Care and Control (PBCACC) wants to thank the community for helping us move out enough dogs to drop from a high of 232 dogs to the current 192, but additional help is still needed. The shelter's resources are stretched thin, with only 144 available kennels for those 192 dogs. PBCACC is calling on the community to continue supporting the shelter by adopting and fostering our longest term residents.

The overpopulation crisis in animal shelters is a nationwide issue, and PBCACC is feeling the impact deeply. The shelter's capacity to provide humane care and find loving homes for animals is overwhelmed.  Jan Steele, Director of PBCACC, emphasized, "We're in an emergency situation. The sheer volume of animals is pushing us to the limit. We can't do this alone. Our community's support is vital now more than ever."

Urgent Actions Needed:

  1. Adopt: Consider adopting an at-risk dog. Waived adoption fees apply.
  2. Foster: Provide a temporary, loving home. Supplies and guidance provided.
  3. Volunteer: Join our team to help care for animals and assist the shelter.
  4. Donate: Crucial supplies like food, toys, and blankets are needed.
  5. Spread the Word: Share on social media (@pbcacc) and raise awareness.

Dogs Most at Risk:

  1. Chuck (AID# 2138682): Has a calm and friendly demeanor.
  2. Honey (AID# 2139136): Would make a great running partner.
  3. Zila (AID# 2150254): A quiet and gentle girl.
  4. Bert (AID# 2150358): Loves playing with the water hose.
  5. Royal (AID# 2150391): Loves baths and is a mellow fellow.
  6. Lion (AID# 2140378): Likes to play and snuggle right after.
  7. Kalinka (AID# 2148121): Walks great on leash and loves human companionship.
  8. Lulu (AID# 2141398): Sweeter than a Hershey kiss.
  9. Taffy (AID# 2149644): Favorite thing is pets and kisses.
  10. Iris (AID# 2149819): Loves to socialize and play with toys.
  11. Orion (AID# 2150031): Great walking partner and loves cuddles.
  12. Chino (AID# 2150960): Cuddle buddy and loves pets.
