November 2018 Program Guide at Riverbend Park

All programs are by reservation only. Please call (561) 741-1359 to make program reservations. Payment (cash or check) is due the day of program. Programs require a minimum number registered participants. For every program, participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please register in advance by 2:00 p.m. the day before. All programs run approximately 90 minutes depending upon experience level of participants. Please bring drinking water, sunscreen, and insect repellant to each program. 

NATURALIST WALKS
Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join a naturalist for a guided walk exploring the trails of Riverbend Park. It’s a great way to become familiar with the plant and animal communities, trails and historic events of the park. 

SPECIAL EVENT: PIONEER FAMILY FARMSTEAD DAY
Saturday, November 3, 9:00 a.m.
All ages, FREE (No reservation required)
Spend the day on Riverbend Park’s Turn of the Century Farmstead. Antique    flywheelers, crafters, exhibitors and storytellers will give you a taste of old time Florida. Yesteryear Village will be on site. Visit the sawmill, sugar cane processing stations or take a scenic carriage ride. Toys and games will be available for children. Music by Blue Cypress Bluegrass and food trucks make for a great day!

GUIDED PEDAL
Saturday, November 10, 9:30 a.m.
All ages, $5/person (Reservations required)
Discover the trails of Riverbend with a naturalist guiding the way. This tour is a leisurely pedal of the trails. Enjoy looking for wildlife and stopping occasionally at points of interest. Please bring your own bike, as rental concession is currently unavailable.

ARCHERY
Saturday, November 17, 9:30 a.m. 
Ages 8+, $10/person (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery and N.F.A.A. certified staff to learn about archery! This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

FULL MOON BIKE RIDE
Friday, November 30, 6:30 p.m.
All ages, $10/person (Reservations required, limit 50)
Join a naturalist on a nighttime bike ride. See the park after hours and look at nature from the point of view of its nocturnal residents. Please bring your own bike, as rental concession is currently unavailable. Appropriate safety gear and flashlight is required.
