Power of Parks, is a podcast produced by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department, where we share inspiring stories from people who have benefited from nature, parks and recreation.

Episode 1- features guest Janet Young, a resident of Palm Beach County and a student at Palm Beach State College. This year, what started as a simple project for her honors health class, turned into her writing and publishing an article in the Hippocrates Wellness Institute Magazine about the benefits of nature for students. The project also inspired her to transform the campus nature trail as a dedication to the Marjory Stoneman Douglas school shooting victims and to help students at Palm Beach State College de-stress and unwind.

Episode 2- features guest Noah Kraft, a 13-year old volunteer at Okeeheelee Golf Course. Noah has been volunteering at the golf course for almost a year. Volunteering has helped him in a few ways, including learning how to do different tasks and improving his game. Noah agrees volunteering has provided him with many opportunities to better himself, and much of this has come from interacting with golf employees at the course. This opportunity is providing him not only with a way to serve his community, but also valuable experience he needs to work his way up to becoming a professional golf player!
