January 2019 Program Guide at Riverbend Park

All programs are by reservation only. Please call (561) 741-1359 to make program reservations. Payment (cash or check) is due the day of program. Programs require a minimum number registered participants. For every program, participants/guardians are required to sign a Program Participation Form. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please register in advance by 2:00 p.m. the day before. All programs run approximately 90 minutes depending upon experience level of participants. Please bring drinking water, sunscreen, and insect repellant to each program. 

NATURALIST WALKS
Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Join a naturalist for a guided walk exploring the trails of Riverbend Park. It’s a great way to become familiar with the plant and animal communities, trails and historic events of the park. 

GUIDED PEDAL
Saturday, January 5 & 12, 9:30 a.m.
All ages, $5/person (Reservations required)
Discover the trails of Riverbend with a naturalist guiding the way. This tour is a leisurely pedal of the trails. Enjoy looking for wildlife and stopping occasionally at points of interest.

FULL MOON BIKE RIDE
Friday, January 18, 6:30 p.m.
All ages, $10/person (Reservations required, limit 50)
Join a naturalist on a nighttime bike ride. See the park after hours and look at nature from the point of view of its nocturnal residents. Appropriate safety gear and flashlight are required.

ARCHERY
Saturday, January 19, 9:30 a.m. 
Ages 8+, $10/person (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery and N.F.A.A. certified staff to learn about archery! This exciting program teaches archery safety and how to properly use the equipment before getting to practice on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

181st ANNIVERSARY BATTLE OF THE LOXAHATCHEE REENACTMENT
Saturday, January 26, 9:00 a.m.
All ages, FREE (No reservations required)
Bring the family for a day of history to Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park (adjacent to Riverbend Park.) There will be period dressed reenactors, U.S. Army and Seminole camps, exhibitors, guest speakers, battlefield tours, weapons demonstrations and a battle reenactment. Food trucks will be at the event.
