181st Anniversary Battle of the Loxahatchee Reenactment at Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park

​What: The grounds of Loxahatchee River Battlefield Park will shake once again with the sound of rifle and cannon fire as they did in January of 1838. The 181st Anniversary Battle of the Loxahatchee will take place on the same grounds as it did back then. The day will consist of interactive activities, demonstrations, guest speakers, exhibits, food trucks and the reenactment starts with the opening remarks at 2:00 p.m. Visitors can walk through the period U.S. Army and Seminole camps to get a feel of what life was like at that time. Dressed reenactors will be on site to talk about the two battles and their place in Florida history. The Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservationists will be leading battlefield walks to discuss the significance of these battles. Cannon and musket demonstrations are also scheduled throughout the day.
