More than 200 youngsters from western Palm Beach County will travel to Palm Beach State College’s Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center on Thursday, February 21, to participate in the 22nd Annual A4AFL West Festival sponsored by Arts4All Florida - Palm Beach County. This year’s event, 2019 A4AFL West Festival “Arts4All Around the World,” will begin at 9:30 a.m. and conclude at 12:45 p.m.
The A4AFL West Festival provides children with disabilities an opportunity to showcase their achievements in the arts and to be exposed to new visual and performing arts experiences. This year’s event will include children from schools in Belle Glade, Canal Point, Pahokee and South Bay. The students will perform, produce and experience thematic art in several forms through visual and performing art booths.
Activities include outdoor art activities headed by artists from throughout South Florida. Artists Sarah Gualtieri, Dr. Jagathy Nair, Kerry Rawn, Kristy Hoot, Mollie Bongiovi, Heather Stevenson, Regina Reyes, Lester Finney, Ann Marie O’Brien, Richard Fleming, Ryan Gilbert & Cory Cody will direct the young students in multi-cultural themed visual art projects including drawing, sculpture, painting and wearable art. The students will also participate in interactive performing arts including storytelling, music, theatre and dance.
The festival is sponsored by businesses and individuals from western Palm Beach County.
