Celebrate Kids to Parks Day at PBC Parks! Kids to Parks Day is Saturday, May 18, 2019 and we're celebrating with a fun social media game! Toy squirrels have been placed at select PBC Parks and it's up to you to find them!

A limited number of these squirrels have been placed at playgrounds in the following county-operated parks: Dyer Park, Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, John Prince Park and Okeeheelee Park

Once you find one (seen above), snap a photo with it in the park and share on your social media using #pbcparks and #KidstoParks or email it to us at pbcparks@pbcgov.org. Then, either take it home as your prize or leave it for someone else to find.

Launced in 2011, Kids to Parks Day is a national celebration of great outdoors organized by National Park Trust (NPT) and is designed to connect kids and families with their local, state and national parks and public lands. By discovering and exploring our public lands, kids across the country can learn about park stewardship, outdoor recreation, STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and the history of our country. In addition, by teaching our kids to appreciate and enjoy our public lands, we can foster future outdoor enthusiasts and create the next generation of park stewards and caretakers of these important places. Because kids need parks- and parks need kids!
