The winning photo will appear on the cover of NRPA's July issue of Parks and Recreation magazine and draw attention to Palm Beach County, Juno Beach, Juno Beach Pier, Loggerhead Marinelife Center and the Responsible Pier Initiative.

Story behind the photo: Managed in partnership with Loggerhead Marinelife Center, the Juno Beach Pier is home to the Responsible Pier Initiative which equips responders at the pier with tools and training for responding to turtle and seabird injuries and strandings. The program, which spread to 64 piers worldwide, boasts 380 turtle and 65 seabird rescues; 13,000+ pounds of debris removed and 150+ miles of monofilament recycling. The pier includes a bait shop with snack bars and extends 990 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. Photo taken by volunteer Bob Gibson.
