County Hosting Weekend Beach Cleanups Following Hurricane Dorian

Body

In the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, the County’s Parks and Recreation Department (PBC Parks) and Environmental Resources Management Department (ERM), along with other community organizations, will host a county-wide weekend beach cleanup event on Saturday, September 7. The cleanups are prompted by the impacts of Hurricane Dorian, which caused large volumes of plastic, trash and debris to wash ashore.

Water, gloves and trash bags will be provided at the cleanups, and volunteers are asked to please dress appropriately and use sun protection. Volunteers are welcome to join the effort by meeting on-site at the following locations, Saturday, September 7, from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM:

• DuBois Park (meet ERM staff on-site)
19075 DuBois Rd., Jupiter, FL 33477

• Ocean Reef Park (meet ERM staff on-site)
3860 North Ocean Dr., Riviera Beach, FL 33404

• Ocean Inlet Park (meet PBC Parks staff on-site)
6990 North Ocean Blvd., Ocean Ridge, FL 33435

• Ocean Cay Park (meet Friends of Jupiter Beach on-site)
2188 Marcinski Rd., Jupiter, FL 33477

• R.G. Kreusler Beach Park (meet PBC Parks staff on-site)
2882 South Ocean Blvd., Palm Beach, FL 33480
