All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated.  Programs now require payment at the time of registration/reservation. You can register and pay online at www.pbcparks.com. Please select “Online Services”, choose “Register/Pay for Program” from the drop-down menu, click the “Nature” icon, and then search for the program by name. You must login or create a new household account before registering. 

ALLIGATOR FEEDING
Wednesdays, 3:30 p.m. & Saturdays, 1:00 p.m.

ARCHERY FOR BEGINNERS
Saturday, March 14, 9:30 a.m.
Tuesday, March 24, 9:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Learn the basics of archery from safety to shooting and develop a great new skill during this two-hour program. Equipment is provided. Space is limited.

GOPHER TORTOISE CELEBRATION
Saturday, March 21, 10:00 a.m.
Families/all ages, FREE (No reservations required)
Celebrate the preserve’s most unique inhabitant—the gopher tortoise! Enjoy games, crafts, displays, and presentations all focused on this rare species and the important role they play in the environment. Enjoy storytime for young children, tortoise habitat hikes with ONC naturalists, and meet-and-greets with their ambassador tortoise “Sparky”. Participation is free thanks to a grant from the Gopher Tortoise Council and Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center.

ARCHERY OPEN RANGE
Tuesday, March 24, 12:00 p.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
**Prerequisite: Must have completed Archery for Beginners**
Practice those new-found archery skills! This 1.5 hour practice session allows participants to work on precision and accuracy with a compound bow. Equipment is provided.

OWL PROWL
Friday, March 27, 6:30 p.m. 
Ages 8+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Meet a couple of the nature center resident owls up-close and learn more about other animals that prowl their forest after dark. Then look for wildlife on a moonlight hike and make s’mores around the campfire!

NATURE WALK
Saturday, March 28, 10:30 a.m.
Families/all ages, FREE (No reservations required)
Go on a FREE guided nature walk through the pine flatwoods ecosystem and learn about the plants and animals that live right here in the local community.
