More than 200 volunteers from the Palm Beach County Office of Community Revitalization and the Parks & Recreation Department, the Office Depot Foundation, Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, Lake Worth West Residential Planning Group, KaBOOM! and area residents will join forces on Saturday, January 24, to build a new playground at Lake Worth West Neighborhood Park, 4150 Vermont Avenue, Lake Worth.

The updated play space will provide a much-needed opportunity for children to have fun and exert excess energy in a safe environment. The playground design is based on children's drawings created at a special event in November.

The project is a result of the Office of Community Revitalization's creative partnership with the Office Depot Foundation, the project's major funding partner. KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that all kids get a childhood filled with the balanced and active play needed to thrive.

"We are thankful that Lake Worth West was chosen as one of the locations for these wonderful new community spaces," said Palm Beach County Mayor Shelley Vana. "This playground will have a positive impact on children, seniors and everyone in between."
