All programs are by reservation only.  Fee programs require payment at the time of registration/reservation. You can register and pay online at www.pbcparks.com. Please select “Online Services”, choose “Register/Pay for Program” from the drop-down menu, click the “Nature” icon, and then search for the program by name. You must login or create a new household account before registering. 

TURTLEY TUESDAY
Tuesday, August 2, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Families/all ages, $3/participant (Reservations required)
Turtles or tortoises…are they different? If so, how? During this program, you will learn about native turtles from the land and sea. Meet our fan favorites- the Gopher Tortoise and the Diamondback Terrapin, and watch some of our shelled friends eat a meal. This program is going to be turtley awesome! 
 
ALLIGATORS IN AUGUST
Saturday, August 6, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
Families/all ages, $3/participant (Reservations required)
It’s hatching season for baby alligators in Florida! Come out to ONC for a program all about alligators, starring our very own baby gators, who will be turning a year old this month. You will get to watch these gators eat their meal and participate in a gator-themed craft. 

TALES & TAILS: OPOSSUMS
Saturday, August 13, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Ages 3-8, $3/child (Reservations required)
Bring your little ones and join an Okeeheelee volunteer and Naturalist for story time with puppets! You will even get a close-up animal encounter with our Virginia opossum!   

ONC BEHIND THE SCENES
Saturday, August 20, 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Families/all ages, $3/participant (Reservations required)
The most relaxing part of our day is spent taking care of our animals. Come join us and our nonhuman “co-workers” by taking a tour of where the outdoor animals live when they are off the clock.

CREEPY CRAWLIES
Saturday, August 27, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Families/all ages, $3/participant (Reservations required)
Some of the most overlooked, yet extremely important, critters in our ecosystem are those without a backbone- the invertebrates! In this program, we will talk about the benefits of these so called “pests”. You will get to meet a few spineless friends and go on a walk to look for butterflies, bees, and more!
