Palm Beach County reopening parks after Hurricane Matthew

​Palm Beach County-operated parks, beaches, boat ramps, and unstaffed athletic courts and amenities are opening to the public following closure due to Hurricane Matthew with the exception of the following:

The BMX, Ski-Club, and softball fields at Okeeheelee Park are without electricity and will close at sunset.

Field #2 (large baseball field) at Dyer Park is closed.

Heron Pavilion at Lake Ida Park is closed due to structural damage.

Pavilions at Carlin Park are without electricity.

Swimming pools and splash pads will remain closed through Saturday.

The public is also advised that lifeguards will not be on duty today and staffed facilities such as nature centers and recreation centers will remain closed today. Park visitors are also advised to avoid areas roped off due to flooding or other safety issues. Most scheduled programs and activities are expected to resume on Saturday, October 8. Athletes should check with their sports provider group.
