May 2023 Program Guide at Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated.  Please register online at www.pbcparks.com; under “Online Services” click on Register/Pay for Program, or visit the nature center to register and make payment. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, and recreation.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS
Daily, 3:15 p.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
3:15 p.m. is feeding time! Listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing’s resident animals and then watch while it’s fed. Wednesday - Owl; Thursday - Snake; Friday - Tortoise; Saturday - Alligator
 
MOTHER NATURE & ME: START YOUR GARDEN
Tuesday, May 2, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through sto-ries, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and
preschoolers!
 
DIP NETTING
Saturday, May 6, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Find out what creatures naturally live in the water of a wetland! Learn how to collect small pond animals and then observe and identify your findings. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toed shoes that can get wet/muddy.
 
DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: INSECTS AND SPIDERS
Tuesday, May 9, 3:30 p.m.
Ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program about insects and spiders featuring a vis-it from some of the nature center’s resident animal ambassadors, at the Glades Road Branch Library! Call the Glades Road Branch Li-brary for details and RSVP at (561) 482-4554.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: BACKYARD BIRDS
Tuesday, May 16, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)

ALL ABOUT AMPHIBIANS
Saturday, May 27, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 5+, $3/participant (Reservations required)
Amphibians are amazing! Learn about different types of amphibians, including frogs and toads, and find out why they are so important to the ecosystem. You’ll even get to meet some live residents here in Florida!
