Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation officially opened a new Fitness
Zone® exercise area in John Prince Park on March 21 to a large group of
health-conscious residents
The Fitness Zone consists of 17 pieces of resistance exercise equipment,
accessible by people of all abilities and fitness levels and is intended for
ages 14 and older. There is no charge to use the facility.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place near the Center Drive Pavilion and the
start of the 1.1-mile exercise course.
"Providing opportunities to
improve your physical fitness is an essential service of our Parks and
Recreation Department and the new Fitness Zone is a great addition to promote
health and wellness for the citizens in Central Palm Beach County," said Mayor
Shelley Vana.
Funding for the project was provided in part by the Quantum Foundation
through a partnership between the Trust for Public Land and the Palm Beach
County Parks and Recreation Department.
John Prince Park is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation
Department. For more recreational opportunities available through the Parks and
