March 2024 Program Guide for Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated.  Please register online at www.pbcparks.com; under “Online Services” click on Register/Pay for Program, or visit the nature center to register and make payment. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community​.

ANIMAL FEEDINGS & TALKS
Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 3:15 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations not required)
During feeding time, listen to a short talk about one of Daggerwing’s resident animals. 

MOTHER NATURE & ME: FUN FROGS
Tuesday, March 5, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers!
 
**DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: ALLIGATORS 
Tuesday, March 12, 3:00 p.m.
All ages, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program about alligators featuring a visit from the nature center’s resident animal ambassador. Located at the Glades Rd Branch Library! Call for details and RSVP at (561) 482-4554.

FLORIDA ANIMAL EXPERIENCE
Saturday, March 16, 10:30 a.m.
All ages, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Meet live animals that can be found right here in Florida! Learn how these native creatures are adapted to survive in the many habitats found in our home state.

FISHING FUN
Friday, March 22, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Learn the basics of freshwater fishing! Class includes fishing pole basics, casting tips, and freshwater fish identification. All fishing supplies are provided. Please bring a water bottle, sun protection, and closed-toe shoes that can get wet/muddy.
 
BOARDWALK TOUR
Saturday, March 23, 11:00 a.m. 
All ages, FREE (Reservations required - at front desk)
Join a naturalist led tour of our boardwalk! Space is limited, sign-in at front desk required. 
 
INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, March 30, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills, and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.
