April 2024 Program Guide for Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated.  Please register online at www.pbcparks.com; under “Online Services” click on Register/Pay for Program, or visit the nature center to register and make payment. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form before each program. Activities promote environmental awareness, conservation, recreation, and educate on health and wellness in the community.

MOTHER NATURE & ME: CELEBRATE SPRING
Tuesday, April 2, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 2-5 (w/guardian), $4/child (Reservations required)
Get ready to jump and shout with Mother Nature through stories, live animals, activities, and a craft specifically designed for toddlers and preschoolers.

SOUTH FLORIDA ANIMALS: FLORIDA PANTHER CONSERVATION 
Saturday, April 6, 11:00 a.m.
Ages 5+, $5/participant (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special presentation by our Naturalist on Florida Panther Conservation. Find out why these elusive big cats are threatened and learn what you can do to ensure the protection and conservation of this critically endangered species. 
 
DAGGERWING VISITS THE LIBRARY: AMPHIBIANS 
Tuesday, April 9, 3:30 p.m.
Ages 5+, FREE (Reservations required)
Enjoy a special program about amphibians featuring a visit from the nature center’s resident animal ambassador. Located at the West Boca Branch Library! Call the library for details and RSVP at (561) 470-1600. 
 
INTRO TO ARCHERY
Saturday, April 13, 10:30 a.m.
Ages 8+, $10/participant (Reservations required)
Join USA Archery certified staff and learn about the exciting sport of archery. This program teaches archery safety, skills, and proper use of a bow and arrow before practicing on the range. Equipment is provided. Note: Bows may be difficult to pull for smaller children.

SPECIAL EVENT: EARTH DAY
Saturday, April 27, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
All ages, FREE* (Reservations not required)
Celebrate Earth Day at Daggerwing Nature Center! Bring the family to learn easy ways to help the planet while having fun. This special event will feature live animal encounters, interactive activities, butterfly plant sale, ladybug release, crafts and much more! Activities will promote awareness of environmental protection and earth conservation. *Some activities involve minimal cash or check donation to Friends of Daggerwing Nature Center.

CITY NATURE CHALLENGE 2024: SOUTH FLORIDA #CNCSOFLO
April 26 – April 29, 2024
