The Gold Coast Public Relations Council (GCPRC) selected the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department as the recipient of the 2017 Bernays Award under the category of Marketing Material for the agency’s Department Overview Video. The award was accepted at an awards luncheon in West Palm Beach on January 27, 2017.

The GCPRC Bernays Award – Marketing Material focuses on agencies that have produced meaningful marketing material such as brochures, annual reports, newsletters and videos. The Bernays Awards recognize outstanding performance and campaigns by members of GCPRC, South Florida’s largest independent organization of Public Relations and Marketing professionals. The department was one of five nominees for the award.

“Hats off to our talented Public Engagement Team for continuing to educate residents, visitors and employees about our park system and wide range of services in innovated ways,” said Parks and Recreation Director Eric Call.

The agency’s Department Overview Video was produced and released in 2016. It is unique in that it was produced completely in-house by the department’s Office of Public Engagement. It is a visual and engaging video showcasing the county’s 80+ parks, facilities and amenities in less than 10 minutes. The video highlights the wide range of services the department offers to visitors, residents, volunteers and employees. It now serves as both an effective marketing tool to residents and visitors and a training tool for volunteers and employees.
