Solo Art Exhibit hosted by VSA Florida- Palm Beach County, heARTmatters: There's ART in Every heART

Body

What: Solo exhibit featuring the artistic accomplishments of Susan Schanerman. An artist and writer who has overcome many obstacles in her life stemming from a paralyzing case of polio at a young age, Susan considers herself “a very late bloomer.” She didn’t pick up her first paint brush until 1995, and then it took almost 20 years before she gained enough self-confidence to begin to call herself an artist and showcase her work. Susan’s work is playful, whimsical, uplifting, inspiring and fun. She uses vibrant color and most of her work has a child-like tone as though it’s speaking for the child within her expressing the freedom and joy of childhood, something she never experienced. In 2004, Susan was inspired to create her artwork reflecting the idea of heARTmatters: There’s ART in Every heART.  This will be her first solo exhibition. The show will also have a wonderful opening performance “Variety Show” by VSA’s SpotLighters: On The Road.
