★ ALL Youth showing livestock/animals at the South Florida Fair must have an Animal Ethics Certification. More info can be found at the Florida State Fair's website. You can register for a class online or print out and mail the Registration Form. (This includes rabbits, goats, chicken, steer, hog, horse, llama & dog)

★ "National 4-H Week": At the Board of County Commissioners meeting on Oct. 6, 2009, on behalf of Commissioner Santamaria, Commissioner Koons (center) presented a proclamation declaring Oct. 4 – 10, 2009 as “National 4-H Week” in Palm Beach County.
