About Us
Spanish pesticide-training program is a multi-county program for
South and Central Florida. The target clientele are Hispanic
agriculture workers and Hispanic pesticide applicators working in
farms, nurseries and the landscape industry seeking to increase
knowledge in pesticide safety. The program began in December 2000
with a primary goal to increase pesticide safety by delivering worker
protection standards to the Hispanic farmworker community but it
has expanded to provide pesticide license certification trainings
as well.
Purpose: The purpose of the Spanish pesticide-training program is
to provide a learning opportunity to Hispanic individuals seeking
to increase knowledge, improve testing skills and prepare for pesticide
license certification in their own native language.
Scope: The Spanish pesticide training classes
are designed to increase pesticide knowledge, safety and encourage
license certification.
Training: At present, we are please to offer the
following programs in Spanish:
- Worker Protection Standard for Worker and Handler.
- Train the Trainer.
- Private applicator.
- General Standards (Core).
- Ornamental and Turf and Landscaping for Limited Certification.
- Commercial landscape maintenance.
- Pest control technician training.
