Gas Tax Discretionary Fund

 

The Gas Tax Discretionary Fund (GTDF) was established in 1998, providing the Board of County Commissioners the ability to apply unused dollars budgeted for road projects for transportation-related improvements on a discretionary basis.  In District IV, this fund has been used for road improvements, beautification and pathway projects.  Some examples of the allocations include school signals, flashers, turn lanes and sidewalks. Other types of projects have been drainage upgrades, road construction and bus shelters.

The initial amount budgeted in 1998 was $570,000 per district and was later changed to $1,000,000 per year per district.  However, in 2007, the Board voted to eliminate GTDF due to budgetary cutbacks. The allocations for the projects below represent the accumulated balance of District IV’s discretionary funds. 

Please note that the some of the following projects are pending approval by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners.
