The 2009 TV Report features the award winning “21st Century Strategic Economic Plan” and highlights the implementation strategies that are transforming the Palm Beach County’s economy.
The outcomes of eight (8) public-private partnerships, created as a result of the 2005 Palm Beach County Economic Summit, are reported in this video. These partnerships are transforming Palm Beach County into a prototype of how communities of the future will grow.
The use of media tools to inform and seek advice from citizens is being utilized to reach residents across Palm Beach County. The televised report has the potential to be seen by over one million citizens through cable television (the Government Channel 20) and Palm Beach County Public Affairs website, where the program can be seen 24/7.
With the economic development goal to generate $1 billion in net new taxes and 30,000 jobs, we must continually seek the support of citizens and investment by the private sector to implement the plan. This TV and internet program might assist by encouraging public-private partnerships to be formed to: 1) leverage private investment, 2) attract stakeholders that are interested in a specific area of work, 3) support public agencies and build municipal and county relationships to ensure mutual cooperation and benefits. By harnessing the energy and support of citizens, our overall objective is within reach. Implementation is at a critical stage, so your ideas for next steps would be greatly appreciated.
