With the elimination of the State's Urban Forestry Program in 1995, the Palm Beach Board of County Comissioners and a number of local municipalities recognized the importance of an active urban and community forestry program for this area. By forming a working partnership between the County and interested municipalities, the urban forestry program was saved.
The goal of the Forestry Partnership Program is to protect the tree canopy of the County by assisting municipalities in their forestry needs and to inform private citizens and developers on proper forestry techniques. This is being accomplished by supplying technical assistance and guidance to local municipalities and other interested parties through the Palm Beach County Department of Environmental Resources Management "Vegetation Management Program".
