his section of the Service Facility is responsible for
seven hundred and twenty nine (729) audio/video systems comprised of
ten thousand five hundred (10,500) electronic devices. These systems
are comprised of intercoms, public address, access control, closed
circuit televison (CCTV), sound system re-enforcement, recording
systems and video systems. This section is also responsible for the
repair and maintenance of Palm Tran’s electronic systems resident in
the bus fleet (e.g., semi-automatic next stop annunciation systems,
public address systems, mobile digital CCTV and electronic signs). In
addition, the section maintains the highly sophisticated Judicial
Center’s central recording system which is a one of a kind in the
entire United States. Central recording is an integrated electronic
system that is controlled remotely from the twelve courtrooms that it
audio records and plays back courtroom proceedings. The system
integrates four electronic sub-systems (e.g., Courtroom Sound
Re-enforcement, Fiber Optic Digital transmission, Automatic Central
Monitoring/Testing, Record Logging and Transcription Systems). This
system eliminates the need for twelve court reporters and is operated
by one employee. In addition, this group is responsible for the
design, installation and maintenance of the video conferencing suites
used for video arraignment between Belle Glade and the Criminal
Justice Complex at Gun Club Road. Further, this group has a plethora
of audio/visual loaner equipment to support the BOCC, Administration
and County departments for meetings and presentations.
