Name: Captain Sean Pamplona
, Commander
Assignment: Employee since: 1991 Member since: 2002 Why did you join the honor guard? Someone gave me a video of the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Team. When I was done watching their performance I knew I had to become a member of the Honor Guard. Preserving the tradition with pride, integrity and class is what it's all about.
Name: Lieutenant Steen Eriksson
, Lt. Commander
Assignment: Station 18 (A Shift) Employee since: 1981 Member since: 1989 Why did you join the honor guard? Being a part of the Honor Guard is one of the things in my career of which I am most proud. It is rewarding for me to be representing our department in this capacity, as I believe it brings a sense of tradition and dignity to the fire service when we are out there doing what we do. I enjoy the discipline and formality when we are "in the zone". Also, in my opinion, there is no better way to pay respect to a fallen firefighter and the family than to post and render honors with the Pipe and Drum at a memorial or funeral service, and I am honored to be a part of it.
Name: Staff Captain Rick Gass
Assignment: Training and Safety Division Employee since: 1984 Member since: 1990 Why did you join the honor guard? I joined the Honor Guard to pay tribute to all fallen firefighters and their families. It is also a way of presenting a positive image of our Department to the residents we serve.
Name: Captain Lenny Collins

I have had the privilege to represent P.B.C.F.R. as a member of our Honor Guard Team for our own members as well as orther department members who have fallen. I believe that thier memory and their family was honored.

Name: Firefighter Karl Hornburg
Employee since: 1989 Why did you join the honor guard? After being on a United States Coast Guard Honor Guard competition team, it seemed like a natural transition to become a member of PBCFR's Honor Guard. Just like the name, it is an honor to represent PBCFR and to guard the traditions and values we all hold true. The ability to stand in place for all my fellow brethren in a myriad of events has been a blessing and one I look forward to continuing throughout my career. |
