Why did you join the honor guard? Someone gave me a video of the U.S. Marine Corps Silent Drill Team. When I was done watching their performance I knew I had to become a member of the Honor Guard. Preserving the tradition with pride, integrity and class is what it's all about.

Why did you join the honor guard? Being a part of the Honor Guard is one of the things in my career of which I am most proud. It is rewarding for me to be representing our department in this capacity, as I believe it brings a sense of tradition and dignity to the fire service when we are out there doing what we do. I enjoy the discipline and formality when we are "in the zone". Also, in my opinion, there is no better way to pay respect to a fallen firefighter and the family than to post and render honors with the Pipe and Drum at a memorial or funeral service, and I am honored to be a part of it.

Why did you join the honor guard? After being on a United States Coast Guard Honor Guard competition team, it seemed like a natural transition to become a member of PBCFR's Honor Guard. Just like the name, it is an honor to represent PBCFR and to guard the traditions and values we all hold true. The ability to stand in place for all my fellow brethren in a myriad of events has been a blessing and one I look forward to continuing throughout my career.
