Staff Captain Bob Dawson leads the Chief and Company Officer training. Officer training includes the periodic Professional Development Series where officers meet together to review current issues, department procedures, and educational opportunities. Officer Candidate Schools (OCS) are 80 hours in length and required for all Chief Officers, Captains, and Lieutenants. Officer Candidate schools provide personnel with the necessary essential job knowledge and skills to effectively operate in their new supervisory position.

Staff Captain Douglas Watson leads the Driver Operator training. Driver Candidate School provides the basic fundamental knowledge and skills to operate fire department pumping apparatus. Additional training is provided to personnel assigned to specialized apparatus within the department to include 24 and 64 Hour Quint classes, Light/Air Orientation, Tender Orientation, and new apparatus orientation. Specialized defensive driving classes for emergency vehicle drivers are also provided to department personnel.

Staff Captain Brad Havrilla leads the Firefighter training. Existing personnel are provided continuing education on basic and advanced skills such as Firefighter Safety & Survival, Fire Suppression, Ropes & Knots, Forcible Entry, and Ventilation. Firefighters are able to practice their skills at acquired structures donated by the general public.

Paramedic skills testing Staff Captains Steve Campana and Rick Gass lead the EMT/Paramedic training. Existing personnel are provided continuing education on basic and advanced medical skills such as Airway Management, EKG Recognition, Medication Administration, and compliance with Regional Protocols. Personnel are provided with Paramedic Candidate training to prepare personnel for scheduled paramedic school and Paramedic Graduate School to ensure personnel complete required Paramedic Assignment testing.

Staff Captain Joe Nelson leads the Special Operations training. Existing personnel are provided initial training and continuing education on Hazardous Materials Technician, Rope Rescue, Trench Rescue, Dive Rescue, and Confined Space Rescue.

Staff Captain Ron Lowe leads the Recruit training. Personnel are hired with a minimum of Firefighter/EMT - Paramedic certification and are required to complete the 12 week Recruit Training Academy that focuses on medical protocols, department policies and procedures, firefighter standard operating guidelines, and hazardous materials mitigation. Personnel are required to complete all components identified in the PDF Document Icon 2007 PBCFR Recruit Manual .

Staff Captain Dave Collado leads the Communicator, Inspector, Instructor, Investigator training. Personnel are provided initial training and continuing education on related subjects in order to recertify required state certifications. Training courses include: Public Information Officer, Course Delivery & Design, and Community Education.
