The American Dream Downpayment Initiative Program (ADDI) is a component of the HOME Program. The program is designed to assist eligible first-time homebuyers with the purchase of their home. ADDI funds are applied toward the downpayment and/or closing cost of the home. ADDI funds may also be applied toward rehabilitation completed in conjunction with the home purchase.
Level of Assistance: Financial assistance is contingent upon the applicant's household size, annual gross income of the household and the dollar amount required to make the monthly payment affordable. Under this program, very low income households may be eligible to receive assistance up to $10,000 and low-income households may be eligible to receive up to $5,000.
Financial assistance is provided in the form of a second mortgage that is deferred with a zero percent (0%) interest rate. the term is contingent upon the amount of the financial assistance.
