State of Emergency declared as of Noon today

 

Storm Track Update

  • What we are anticipating:
    • Tropical Storm Winds:             7 p.m. Tuesday
    • Gale force Winds:                 12 a.m.   Wednesday
    • Hurricane Force Winds:       ----------   Wednesday

Activation of the EOC

  • We anticipate a full activation of the EOC tomorrow by 10 a.m.

Resident Preparations

  • Residents are urged to undertake your hurricane preparations today and early tomorrow.

Shelter Information

  • Shelters will be opening at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.  See attached list.
  • Special Care Unit, (which will be combined with the Special Need Unit) will open Tuesday at 2:00 pm;
  • The County’s new pet shelter, located at West Boynton Recreation Center, 6000 Northtree Blvd., Lake Worth, FL. will be open at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Contact Animal Care and Control at 561-233-1266. (See press release for additional details).
  • Please remember pre-registration is required for the Special Care Unit and is recommended for the pet shelter.

Cancellations & Closings

  • Schools – Closed Tuesday.  No decision has yet been made for Wednesday.
  • Palm Beach County Government – Closing at 4:00 p.m

 

Primary Elections

  • Arthur Anderson  will provide update.

Evacuations

  • Evacuations at this time are voluntary.

 


Court Operations

  • Domestic violence injunctions will be held as scheduled.
  • All other court activities have been suspended for Tuesday and Wednesday with the exception of first appearances, detention and shelter hearings, which will be held at Gun Club facility.
  • Court employees should still report to work.
  • Jurors summoned for Tuesday or Wednesday are excused.

Airports

  • Administrative meeting will be held tomorrow at noon at which time the determination will be made regarding airport closure.

Palm Tran/ TriRail (SFRTA)

  • Tri-Rail will not be in operation tomorrow or Wednesday.
  • Palm Tran Fixed Routes will be ending tomorrow at 5 p.m., but this could change based on the storm’s speed.
  • Palm Tran Connection will be conducting medical trips, work trips and SCU special needs transportation until 5 p.m. tomorrow.
