The Palm Beach County Budget Advisory Committee was created for the purpose of reviewing and analyzing programs and projects funded with County-wide ad valorem tax revenues.
The Committee will be made up of seven members. One member is a Palm Beach County Commissioner selected by the County Commission who will serve as the Chair of the Committee for the duration of the selected member's term of office as a County Commissioner or until replaced by another Commissioner and will be that District's representative. The remaining six members will serve for two year terms. One representative will be nominated by each County Commissioner, other than the Chair of the Committee, to represent their district. These members are required to possess special expertise and experience in business or government. The Committee may include high-ranking governmental employees from other government organizations or members of the private sector. No elected officials other than the Chair shall be appointed to the committee. Approval of committee appointments requires a super majority vote of the Board of County Commissioners. The Board County Commissioners appointed six members to the Budget Advisory Committee at the December 5, 2006 County Commission meeting. Committee Members The Committee operates in accordance with Resolution 2006-2138 which was adopted by the County Commission on October 5, 2006. On December 5, 2006 the County Commission adopted Resolution 2006-2672 which amended Resolution 2006-2138 by eliminating staggered terms of office and providing for three year terms for the six appointed committee members. |
