Transportation planning requires detailed knowledge of regional travel characteristics, current and historic traffic counts, and changes in an area's demographics, including land use patterns. The advent of geographic information systems (GIS), advanced computer modeling, and large databases have enabled the Palm Beach MPO to build an extensive library of digital data. Much of the data we use is collected or created by other agencies, typically the FDOT and the Palm Beach County Engineering Department. Some of that data is available here.
