Geographic Information Systems are an important element in the data development portion of the MPO's travel demand forecasting model. Where people live, how many people live there, the location of vacant and developable land, etc. are important inputs to the FSUTMS model. All of this information has a spatial or location-oriented focus, thus GIS is the perfect tool to help develop and analyze this data. Below are selected shapefiles, available for downloading, that are useful to us in our transportation planning efforts and may be of interest to those familiar with GIS. These are zip-compressed files.
