Palm
Tran, Palm Beach County’s public transit system, announces the
appointment of Ms. Lorraine Smith to the position of assistant
director.
Smith brings more than 27
years of public transit experience to Palm Tran, having
previously served as director of LeeTran in Ft. Myers, Florida,
and most recently as assistant director of Broward County
Transit in South Florida.
Smith earned a Bachelor of
Science degree from Boston University in business
administration. She has served on various committees and has
received numerous awards throughout her career for promoting
public transportation in Broward County.
Smith is an active member
of the Florida Public Transit Association, holding the office of
treasurer.
