County to Hold Lottery for Affordable Houses

Palm Beach County’s Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) announces its intent to sell five homes at affordable prices to eligible lower and very low income households. The sale of these homes will be conducted under the Local Homesteading Pilot Program and will be subject to conditions imposed by Palm Beach County and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Interested parties must fill out a pre-qualification application and submit it to HCD no later than 5 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2006. Applicants must be either first-time homebuyers or current homeowners who are living in overcrowded conditions. A lottery will be used to select names from the pool of pre-qualified applicants. The selected names will be further qualified and matched with the available homes based on the applicant’s financing ability and household size.

Open houses will be held on June 2nd from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and June 3rd from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the following locations:

  • 104 S. Palm Villas Way, Palm Springs, FL
  • 9301 Lily Bank Court, West Palm Beach, FL
  • 2216 Oakmont Drive, Riviera Beach, FL
  • 2210 Oakmont Drive, Riviera Beach, FL
  • 1581 W. 18th Street, Riviera Beach, FL
