For immediate release: June 5, 2008
Contact: Public Affairs 355-2754

The Palm Beach County Division of Senior Services (DOSS) is a lead agency for the Area Agency on Aging (AAA) of Palm Beach/Treasure Coast, Inc., a private, not-for-profit organization which administers public funds, private grants and donations for senior services in Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie and Indian River counties.

Each year, AAA presents its Pinnacle Award to an exemplary staff member from one of its lead agency provider partners.  This year, AAA presented an award at its May 22 annual meeting to DOSS Financial Analyst Tony Moore in recognition of his dedication, commitment and accomplishment to improving the quality of life for seniors.

Moore has been overseeing DOSS’s Fiscal Section since 2001. He is responsible for the overall accounting and budgeting responsibilities for the division. His responsibilities include recording, maintaining and monitoring the county and grant budgets, preparing agenda items for the Board of County Commissioners’ approval, as well as preparing and submitting grant requests to the AAA.  Moore has exemplified a dedicated work ethic and a commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors and their caregivers.

DOSS has been serving senior citizens since 1981.  Its dedicated social workers, outreach workers, meal site managers, senior center and adult day care staff as well as clerical and fiscal staff serve thousands of senior clients annually. The division administers a broad range of home and community-based services that focus on the needs of senior citizens age 60 or older and their families.
