INFORMATION REGARDING APPLICATION PROCESS
This application affords consideration for certification as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with Palm Beach County's Office of Small Business Assistance (OSBA).
Important Points to Remember
- OSBA requires a vendor registration number which is obtained from the Palm Beach County Purchasing Department. This number is inserted on the Affidavit on page 1 of the application. Vendor registration is now done online at www.pbcgov.com/pur. If you do not have access to the internet, computers are available at the Purchasing Department, 50 S. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, or at any branch of the Palm Beach County Library System. NOTE: The business name you insert on the application for Small Business certification must be the same business name you register under as a vendor. If the business names are not the same, OSBA will not process your application.
- Your application must be typewritten or legibly printed in ink.
- The application must be submitted with all attachments. Additional documentation may be required.
- If approved, certification will be granted for a term of three (3) years. Recertification will occur every three (3) years. Site visits may be conducted prior to or during the term of (3) three year certification.
- The application review process takes up to sixty (60) days after receipt of the complete application. Failure to submit all information requested will delay the processing.
- Upon completion of the review, a certificate of approval or letter of denial will be issued. If approved, your firm will be included in the Directory of Certified Vendors. If denied certification by OSBA, you may reapply in 120 days from the date of denial.
- For items on the application not applicable to your business, you must fill the section with the words "Not Applicable" or the letters "N/A."
- DOCUMENTS NOT IN ENGLISH MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A CERTIFIED TRANSLATION.
- All documents submitted to the Office of Small Business Assistance may be deemed to be public record, pursuant to Florida Statute Chapter 119. If you do not want your financial information made public, you must inform OSBA of this in writing. After certification review has been completed, these documents will be returned.
- PLEASE CLEARLY LABEL ALL BACK-UP DOCUMENTATION.
- WE WILL NOT GIVE INFORMATION REGARDING THE STATUS OF YOUR APPLICATION. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED IN WRITING AS TO THE APPROVAL OR DENIAL.
