NEW! ADAPTATION ECOLOGY EXPLARATION VONE RESEARCH

Grades:  2nd - 12th

Description:
During this program, your students become Ecologists and discover the excitement of Natural History and the Science of Adaptation Ecology while touching and researching over 30 different real skulls! Students will take part in hands-on activities including practical food web analysis, skull identification, forensics, and feeding morphology to develop hypotheses and solve the mysteries of adaptation through critical thinking and problem-solving.

BONSAI BASICS THE FISCHER MARK, INC.

Description:
Students will learn the history of Bonsai, as well as recommended trees and designs. This module can be offered for one to five sessions where the students can start training their own trees.

Description:                  
This module promotes an understanding of the ocean and its inhabitants, utilizing the aquarium as a teaching tool. By using the marine aquarium as miniature ecosystem, students can observe the interactions of living things and allow them to realize the delicate balance of life in the ocean. This module will illustrate the basic steps in constructing a marine aquarium. Aquariums do need to be maintained after set-up. Based on your program needs this module can be offered for two to five sessions.

Description:                  
During this program, your students become Marine Archaeologists and discover the excitement of Florida History and the Science of Marine Archaeology while researching real artifacts found in Broward County! Students will take part in hands-on activities including artifact analysis, coin probing, dendrochronology, and scientific experimentation to develop hypotheses and put together the pieces of the past through critical thinking and problem-solving.

Description:                  
Climb aboard for this hands-on adventure. During this program, your students become Marine Ecologists and discover the excitement of Natural History and the Science of Ecology while researching real specimens found in Broward County. Students will take part in hands-on activities including creating coral polyps using clay, performing scientific experimentation on their newly created polyps and real specimens, and by performing coral health surveys using each other as corals. All of this will help the aspiring environmental stewards to solve the increasing dilemma of human impacts on our environment through self empowerment  by creating real solutions that can be implemented now!

Description:                  
This module brings interpretive drawing into the classroom. Participants will observe and discuss a variety of ocean creatures and will learn how to draw either a factual or fictional representation of the creatures. Individuals will model their drawings by observing live marine life, marine life displays, and fictional replicas. Participants will then be able to discuss and present their works of art to their peers.

This module will bring the ocean to the child. We will do this by giving an elementary lesson in marine biology. Students will learn about sea
creatures through song and story including fish, manatees and the myth of the starfish.
