Description:
Create It! Make It! Glaze It! – Where participants will learn various clay working techniques in hand building. They will design and create a whimsical item in pottery clay in 1 hour and 15 minutes. Participants will be allowed a 15 minute snack break before receiving instruction on different under-glazing and over-glazing techniques for their piece. The remaining hour and a half will be used to glaze their artwork. The pottery will be fired in the kiln and be ready for pick-up in one week. If time is limited, this field trip can be broken up into to 1 ½ hour field trips for your convenience. Feel free to bring a snack of your choice.

Enjoy a multi-cultural experience through participating in hands-on activities from various countries throughout the world. Students will begin their journey by identifying specific and “record breaking” geographical landmarks (i.e. the highest mountain, the longest river, tallest waterfall, etc.), as well as the country the landmark is located in. Participants will then broaden their knowledge while learning about a country’s culture through dress and jewelry; habitat and customs and not to mention the hands-on experience learning to cook a variety of delicious foods.
