November Program Guide
at Daggerwing Nature Center

All programs are by reservation only, unless otherwise stated. Please call (561) 629-8760 or visit the nature center to make program reservations. Fees (if applicable) are due the day of the program by cash or check only. All participants are required to sign a Program Participation Form for every program.

ORIGAMI
Every Friday at 3:00pm
Children 7+, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)

Join volunteers Jerry and Marilyn Lambert as they teach the ancient art of paper-folding.

ALLIGATOR FEEDINGS
Wednesdays and Saturdays at 3:00pm

Come and watch our resident alligator eat a meal!

STORY TIME
Sunday, November 1 at 2:00pm
Ages 2-5 (older siblings welcome), $2 per child (Reservations NOT Required)

Join us as we go on adventures through stories, both fiction and non-fiction, about animals and nature!

BOARDWALK TOUR
Saturday, November 7 at 9:15am

Families / All Ages, FREE (Reservations NOT Required)
Join a docent for a guided tour of our swamp habitat!

CHILDREN’S NATURE SERIES: Bats
Sunday, November 8 and Thursday, November 12 at 10:30am
Ages 3-6, $4 per child (Reservations Required)

Parents, bring your little ones to experience exciting nature topics!  Programs may include activities such as: stories, puppets, games, role play, nature walks, and crafts.

“HOW TO” PROGRAM: Bird Identification (bring binoculars)
Saturday, November 14 at 2:00pm
Ages 9 and up, $3 per person (Reservations Required)
Take part in a series where you can DO something with what you learn! Learn how to identify common birds! A tour on our boardwalk will help us to practice our new skills.

NIGHT HIKE
Friday, November 20 at 5:30pm

What comes out at night? Join us for a walk through our wetlands and see some special adaptations of nocturnal animals. Bring bug spray and a flashlight.

What is a wetland? What animals can you find in a wetland area? Come and learn, and meet some live wetland animals.

ECO EXPLORERS: Owls
Wednesday, November 25 at 2:30pm
Ages 7-11, $4 per child (Reservations Required)
Looking for something to do during your day off from school? Come explore nature topics through experiments and other hands-on explorations. During this session we will be learning about owls. Come dissect an owl pellet and take a boardwalk tour to see where they live in our swamp!

Daggerwing Nature Center is operated by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and is located in South County Regional Park at 11200 Park Access Road, off Cain Boulevard between Glades Road and Yamato Road, in western Boca Raton.
