Special Olympics Young Athletes™ Program
Now, young children with Intellectual Disabilities can run, jump, kick a ball and play just like all the other kids through our Special Olympics Young Athletes™ Program. This sports play program focuses on the physical, social, intellectual and developmental needs of children ages 2 -7. The Young Athletes™ program provides a variety of physical activities such as coordination, basic motor skills, balance, running, and catching as well as developing sports skills and sports play.
Community-Based Young Athletes™ Program
This family involvement sports play program focuses on the physical, social and developmental needs of children ages 2–7 with intellectual disabilities, helping families to grow, develop and realize potential together. Sessions are divided by basic skill level and ability.
Dates: Saturdays, January 9 - May 22

Recreation Complex Gymnasium,
Lake Worth
Class size is limited; pre-registration required.
School-based Young Athletes™ Program
Young Athletes™ programs can be conducted by teachers in the school for pre-K and elementary school children ages 2 -7 with intellectual disabilities and inclusive classes. Special Olympics Palm Beach County will provide hands on training, a sports play equipment kit, children’s T-shirts, and participation ribbons. This program can help meet several of the Sunshine State Standards of Education and voluntary pre-K Education Standards.
