The Code Revision Section is responsible for coordinating the periodic review and updates to the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC). The Section coordinates the amendments to the Articles with the various County Divisions for compliance with the Comprehensive Plan, Board of County Commission directives and in response to changes in industry standards. Amendments to the ULDC are presented periodically to the Land Development Regulation Advisory Board (LDRAB), which may establish subcommittees that have representatives with expertise in the area of the code being amended. The subcommittee will make a recommendation to the LDRAB on the amendments.
The LDRAB reviews and makes a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on the proposed amendments. The BCC holds public workshops and hearings prior to final adoption.
The Code Revision Section is responsible for on-going research of various projects and topics related to the code amendment process. This research is presented to the LDRAB and BCC as background support information for the Code amendments.
